Welcome!

Medieval Demon

Welcome to the course blog. You'll be posting here as part of your work for this class. As explained on the syllabus and on Moodle, if you are working for a B for this part of your grade, you only need to post two times over the course of the semester. If you are working on an A or A- for this portion of your grade, you need to post three or four times.

You might be wondering what you should post about. Your posts can be anything related to Satan and the Supernatural, especially as they are related to the religious traditions that emerged out of the Mediterranean (i.e., Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Greek, and Roman traditions). You can post about TV shows, movies, books, art, history, music, news stories, etc.

Posts should be about 150-200 words. For your information, I've just reached about 140 words so far in this post. I'm not going to count words, so you go under or over a bit. However, your posts should be thoughtful and substantive. You are also encouraged to include images and links. You can also use tags (e.g., music, art, tv, movie) to help us organize our posts

I look forward to reading what you post and your responses to others!

Dr. Huber

P.S. Please introduce yourself by commenting on this post. You don't need to write a lot, but just tell us what name you want to be called (you can include pronouns), where you are from (if you want), your major(s)/ minor(s), and maybe why you took this class.

I have been looking forward to this class since I found out it was offered! I hope this class may give me and others a space to discuss things that aren't welcome in most social settings (regarding satan and the supernatural) and to discover new perspectives and ways of viewing the past, present, and future.

    2. I'm not sure if you've had the chance to check it out yet, but if you haven't you totally should! Here's the link to the Steam page. It's part of a trio of games with the other ones being The Hex and Inscryption, which all also have ties to Satan and his game design company. Here's also a link to a very thorough video recap I enjoyed when getting into it. I haven't watched it in awhile but I remember enjoying how much detail the creator goes into about all the aspects of the game and his interpretations of it.
